While the initial estimated costs of the London 2012 Olympics were $6.5 billion, the actual amounts have increased since then to $15.2 billion. The 2012 London Olympics organizing committee is thinking to raise 2 billion pounds through private funding. While the thrust of global recession is expected to affect the sales of the tickets for the 2012 London Olympics, still the organizers are hopeful to raise $820 million from the sale of tickets.
